Privacy Policy

BARO is built so that your symptom history never leaves your iPhone. There is no BARO account and no BARO-operated server or database.

What BARO stores, and where

• Check-ins (symptom, optional intensity, optional note) and the weather features attached to them are stored in the app's local database on your device.
• A cached weather forecast and a small widget snapshot are stored in the app's shared container on your device so the app and its widget can work without re-downloading.
• Preferences (units, sensitivity, notification switches) are stored in local app settings.

None of this is transmitted to the developer. BARO has no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no crash-reporting service.

Location

If you allow location access, BARO uses your approximate location to request the local forecast from Apple WeatherKit. The coordinates are rounded before they are used as a cache key, BARO does not keep a history of where you have been, and your location is not sent to the developer. Location handling by Apple is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

You can use BARO without granting location access; the app will simply not be able to show a local forecast.

Weather data

Weather data is provided by Apple Weather (WeatherKit). Requesting a forecast necessarily sends the requested location to Apple.

Purchases

BARO Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple through StoreKit. BARO never sees or stores your payment details. The app only reads whether the purchase is currently entitled to this Apple ID.

Notifications

All alerts are local notifications scheduled on your device from forecast data the app already downloaded. No push server is involved.

Deleting your data

Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete All Local Data removes every check-in, the cached forecast, the widget snapshot and your preferences from the device. Deleting the app also removes all local BARO data.

Children

BARO is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page.
