Manual Binder (取説棚 in Japan; the "App") keeps the manuals, photos, warranties and receipts for each of your things in one place. The App collects no personal information, and the developer operates no server. No account is required.
There is no screen for entering your name or email, and no mechanism that sends usage, logs or device identifiers to the developer. The developer cannot see what you store in the App.
| Data | Where | Sent anywhere? |
|---|---|---|
| PDFs you add (originals), photos of your things (saved without EXIF such as location), model and serial numbers, notes, receipts, bookmarks | The App's private storage on your device | Only if you turn on iCloud sync (your own private iCloud database), or export, share or back up a file yourself |
| Search index and thumbnails | Device cache (rebuilt from the originals) | Never |
| PDF passwords | Memory only, while the document is open | Never stored or sent |
Deleting the App deletes its data from your device.
The camera is used only when you choose to photograph a thing or read a model-number label. When you pick photos, the App uses the iOS photo picker and receives only the photos you select. Label text is read on your device, and that photo is not kept.
"Find on Official Site" opens your browser's search service with the manufacturer and model you chose (the search service receives that query). Serial numbers and photos are never included. If you ask the App to download a PDF from a link, that website receives a normal request (the App sends no cookies).
Off by default. When you turn it on, your library is stored in the private iCloud (CloudKit) database of the Apple Account signed in at that moment and synced across devices using that account. The developer cannot see this data. If you sign out or another account signs in, sync stops and nothing is uploaded to the other account. Turning sync off deletes nothing. To remove the synced copy, use Settings → Data Management → Delete Manual Binder Data from iCloud (files on your device are kept).
Backup files (.keeplybackup) are saved where you choose. The App does not encrypt backups, and they may contain photos and receipts, so store them carefully. Exported original PDFs may contain their own embedded metadata (the App never rewrites originals).
No ads, no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, no tracking. The App does not access the advertising identifier (IDFA).
The one-time in-app purchase (Pro) and restores are handled by Apple's App Store (StoreKit). The App never obtains payment information.
Deleted items move to Recently Deleted (nothing expires automatically) and can be removed permanently there. To remove everything, delete the App, and if you used iCloud sync, also delete the iCloud copy as described in section 5. No copy remains with the developer.
The App is not directed at any particular age group and collects no personally identifying information.
