3. App

Arca Terms of Use

Last updated: 5 October 2026 | Operator: Kazunari Aoki

1. Scope

These terms govern your use of the iOS app "Arca" provided by Kazunari Aoki ("we", "us"). By using the App you agree to them.

2. The service

The App delivers one short lesson a day, with an artwork that interprets it, in the App and its widget. For the first seven days after you install it, you can read one lesson a day from seven genres for free.

3. In-app purchases

The App offers one-time (non-consumable) purchases. They are not auto-renewing subscriptions.
Genre packs (seven, such as SCIENCE 365): the day you buy is Day 1, and one lesson with its artwork opens every day for 365 days. Lessons you have opened stay available to reread.
ALL 365 (on sale once all seven genres are released) includes all seven genre packs. Genres still in production open with their release day as Day 1. The price of ALL 365 is the same if you already own individual packs (there is no upgrade discount); genres you started individually keep their progress from the original purchase date.
Prices are as shown in the App Store. Purchases and restores are handled by Apple; restore with the same Apple Account you bought with.
Purchases and refunds are governed by Apple's terms. If Apple reports a refund or revocation, the lessons of the affected packs can no longer be read.

4. About the lessons

Lessons are original educational writing based on public institutions, research and established references. We take care to be accurate, but we do not guarantee that they are complete or up to date. Lessons touching on health, psychology or medicine introduce general knowledge and are not a substitute for diagnosis, treatment or professional advice. Please tell us if you find an error.

5. Rights

Rights in the lesson text, artwork and the App's design belong to us. Please do not copy, distribute or republish them beyond personal use. You are welcome to share titles and takeaways with the share button.

6. Prohibited conduct

Use for unlawful purposes or purposes contrary to public order and morals
Reverse engineering the App or circumventing purchase limits
Redistributing or selling the lessons or artwork without permission

7. Disclaimer

The App is provided as is. Except in cases of our intent or gross negligence, we are not liable for damages arising from its use.

8. Changes and termination

We may change or discontinue the App without notice.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The court with jurisdiction over our location shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance.
